Lazy Hana....2nd day

On Friday morning we headed to Hana Fresh for some organic produce :-)

Banana Bread! Yum!
We picked up some...
cherry tomatoes red and yellow
star apples
green beans
red leaf lettuce
green leaf lettuce
mango coconut jam

Hana Fresh's farmer's market stand ia open Mon-Sat from 9-5:30 and Sun 9-2. It's located right next to the health clinic. Hana Fresh's organic farm is located right on property as well. This place is awesome!

Next stop-Hamoa Beach for a surf.....

Our host, birthday boy and Hana local, Shawn....
Our friend Sky heading out with his heavy 12' fiberglass SUP board.
Carlos taking advantage of that rare Hawaiian Beach break ( most breaks out here are reef breaks )
I surfed for about an hour as well....
First time I ever saw this beach was about 20 years ago.....I have to say, everything in Hana looks almost exactly as it did back in 1991. Pretty cool....
Checking out the Hotel Hana Maui on the drive back to Shawn's place. I use to stay here all the time back in the day. It's a fabulous place but at $500 plus a night it's a bit out of my budget these days....

Around sunset we headed out into the garden to start picking veggies for dinner...

Blood oranges...
Carla cooking fish....
Fat Head...
I made a colorful Quinoa Salad
red quinoa
garlic chives
kabocha
red bell pepper
dressing of cumin, evoo, balsamic, honey from the farm, chili powder

And another huge salad from the garden.....

One more day to go.....

Hana to be contin.....
